my WWI flow chart

WWI map, showing kids where the Adriatic Sea is (this is the only reason Italy decided to join the good guys--Britain promised to give them territory along the Sea)Link #1- Click here to pull up a list of some of the Pre-WWI “web of alliances”… 1872 League of 3 Emperors Germany .There were so many alliances that an international war was inevitable. Here is another one with graphics–> european_alliances

Link #2- Causes of WWI worksheet. Click here –> Causes_WWOne

Link #3- Life in the Trenches Worksheet–> life_in_the_trenches.Students read this and then write a letter, pretending to be a soldier living in the trenches, back to their family in the states.  I got some interesting letters (including one student who told her family she was sitting in the trenches eating Cheetos)!

Schlieffen Plan

Link #4- I’ve never done these in class, but they look neat! They arerole-playing games, where students re-enact the discussions in Versailles.  Click here –>Versailles_roleplay . Here is another one –> versaillessimulation
